About Me
I am a Hecht-Levi Postdoctoral Fellow at the Berman Institute of Bioethics at Johns Hopkins University. I'm interested in how we can develop and govern health innovation to better address ethical, social, equity, and justice concerns. My research program has two themes. One theme focuses on political economy questions, examining the relationship between legal and economic structures in medicine and health equity. The second area examines the construction of knowledge, who participates in scientific and technological innovation, how that shapes knowledge production, and who benefits.
I am particularly interested in advancing social change through scholarship and community-based work. I am a proud recipient of a dissertation fellowship award from the Center for Engaged Scholarship. Prior to graduate school, I worked in social work at a HIV/AIDS nonprofit organization. This direct-service work informs much of my research program and desire to bridge research with social change.
